Suggested Milestones
ARE YOU READY TO SUBMIT YOUR PHASE II PLEDGE?
CAQH has outlined four recommended milestones for achieving Phase II-certification. CAQH staff can assist in keeping your process moving forward. The following links provide detail on suggested milestones in the voluntary CORE certification process:

- Signing and Submitting the CORE Phase II Pledge
- CORE Certification Testing
- Applying for the CORE Seal
A number of entities have already submitted their Phase II Pledge and some have completed Phase II certification. Suggested Milestones for Voluntary Phase II Certification:
CAQH staff can help you with each step of the voluntary certification process. We will supply tools than can be used to facilitate high-level readiness assessment and more comprehensive, rule component gap analysis. CAQH can host each of the suggested calls outlined in Step 1 and provide project guidance throughout the process. (Refer to the complete CORE Certification Step by Step Process for more detailed information.)
1. Pre-certification Planning and Systems Evaluation
- Obtain and review the complete set of Phase II Rules and Policies: Phase II - CORE Rules and Policies
- Gauge your organization’s ability to adopt the CORE rules by identifying possible systems/software gaps. Frequently Asked Questions can be accessed here.
- Kick off CORE Phase II Readiness Assessment with CAQH.
- Internal review of resources; external engagement with trading partners.
- CALL 1 with CAQH: Initial CORE Phase II rules walk-through and analysis of rule component applicability to candidate stakeholder type.
- CALL 2 with CAQH: CORE Phase II rule technical gap analysis.
- Create a project plan to address gaps.
- Proceed with project plan for internal system migration.
2. Signing and Submitting the CORE Phase II Pledge
- Sign the CORE Phase II Pledge.
NOTE: Organizations seeking voluntary CORE certification must complete CORE certification testing within 180 days of submitting the signed CORE Pledge to CAQH. The CORE Pledge must be signed by an authorized executive level employee. - Send the signed CORE Pledge to CAQH:

3. CORE Certification Testing
- Obtain and review the Testing Policy: Phase II - CORE 204: Testing Policy.
- Obtain and review the Master Test Suite: Phase II - CORE Phase II Master Test Suite.
- Obtain and review the Master Test Bed Data (includes rules against which you will be tested): Phase II - CORE Phase II Master Test Bed Data.
- Upgrade all impacted IT systems/software as necessary.
- Complete internal testing of CORE-ready systems.
- Contact Edifecs, the Phase II authorized testing vendor, and complete the testing process.
4. Applying for the CORE Seal
- Complete the CORE Phase II Seal Application.
- Announce your CORE Seal achievement through internal/external/CAQH communications channels.
- Distribute and have all marketing and business unit leads read the Trading Partners Toolkit.
- Post your CORE Seal publicly according to the guidelines.
