CORE:
CAQH launched the Committee on Operating Rules for Information Exchange (CORE) to develop an all-payer solution that ensures electronic healthcare administrative data exchange is streamlined and consistent, regardless of the technology.
How to discuss CORE certification with your business partners (health plans, IT Vendors) and simplify healthcare administration in your practice:
Providers can benefit from CORE simply by working with CORE-certified business partners. In doing so, providers have almost instant access to consistent healthcare administrative information before or at the time of service using the electronic system of their choice for any patient or health plan. CORE rules:
- Enhance interoperability between providers and payers
- Streamline eligibility and benefits data transactions
- Reduce the amount of time and resources providers spend on administrative functions—time better spent with patients
If you have a business partner that is not currently CORE-certified, you may want to make that partner aware of the benefits of becoming CORE-certified. CAQH has compiled a Trading Partner Toolkit containing valuable information that you should address if discussing CORE with a business partner. The toolkit provides important facts that your business partners should understand before pursuing CORE certification. View the Toolkit.
