Sr. Healthcare Policy & Data Analyst
Director, Insights
Insights, the research arm of CAQH, is responsible for managing the coordinated CAQH data-driven research agenda consisting of both internally identified and externally focused research projects. The research portfolio is comprised of both ongoing established projects, and new research opportunities focusing on the adoption of HIPAA transactions and their impact on the administrative workflow between providers and health plans.
The Sr. Healthcare Policy & Data Analyst serves a critical role in helping lead the healthcare industry in measuring progress towards full automation of administrative transactions and helping evaluate healthcare operating rules and solutions to simplify administrative business functions by moving to electronic processes. The position will use data and analytic skills to measure and report on the time and cost savings associated with streamlining administrative business processes across the healthcare industry. The position will work with the Director to draft reports and issue briefs related to findings and insights.
The Sr. Healthcare Policy & Data Analyst reports to the Director, Insights. The position is full time, exempt and remote.
- Leads creation of CAQH Index report and research
- Responsible for the collection of quantitative and qualitative data as it relates to healthcare revenue cycle.
- Manages and maintains database to ensure accurate and timely data.
- Analyzes quantitative and qualitative data, interprets findings, and writes the first draft of the annual report and ad hoc reports.
- Leads and conducts literature/article reviews to support research topics related to administrative transactions.
- Interacts with vendors, external stakeholders and/or audiences.
- Leads the coordination and management of project tasks, including communication and outreach activities.
- Presents findings to internal and external stakeholders as needed.
- Conducts analyses to support company initiatives
- Works collaboratively with CAQH staff to identify and support research that promotes value and CAQH as a thought leader in the healthcare arena.
- Drafts and manages research designs and methodologies.
- Conducts statistical analyses and drafts reports and PowerPoints.
- Desire and ability to learn new and challenging content areas.
- Strong qualitative and quantitative analytic capabilities to compile, distill, interpret, and report data for broader audiences.
- Ability to take complex topics and synthesize into user-friendly documents such as issue briefs and annual reports to stakeholders.
- Ability to simultaneously perform multiple assignments and follow work plans.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent writing skills with the ability to clearly convey findings and insights to broad audiences.
- Ability to outline slide flow, content and develop formal PowerPoint presentations to convey information effectively for various audiences.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong experience in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
- Experience using statistical software programs such as R, SAS, SPSS, or Stata to analyze and manage data.
- Experience with data collection and research methodologies and techniques, such as survey design, analysis of primary and secondary data, and structured interviews.
- Understanding of the healthcare revenue cycle and the key parties involved is desirable.
- Knowledge of value-based care and purchasing is desirable.

- Minimum of four years of related work experience in the healthcare industry with a bachelor’s degree or minimum of two years of related work experience in the healthcare industry with a master’s degree.
- Bachelor’s degree required, public health, healthcare policy, healthcare research or a related field.
- Master’s degree preferred; public health, healthcare policy, healthcare research or healthcare administration.
