BLUE CROSS AND BLUE SHIELD OF NORTH CAROLINA LEADER GRECZYN ELECTED CAQH BOARD CHAIRMAN
The Council for Affordable Quality Healthcare (CAQH), an alliance of the nation’s leading health plans and networks working to simplify healthcare administration, announced today that it elected Robert J. Greczyn, Jr., president and chief executive officer of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina, chairman of its board of directors. Greczyn, a CAQH board member since 2002, will serve in the position for one year. He succeeds John W. Rowe, M.D., Chairman and CEO of Aetna, who will now serve as the organization’s immediate past chairman.
“Bob Greczyn is a strong proponent of removing barriers to healthcare delivery,” said Robin Thomashauer, CAQH executive director. “His proven track record of innovative leadership and roll-up-the-sleeves determination to get things done will be a great asset to CAQH.”
CAQH also announced it had re-elected Vicky Gregg, president and CEO, BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee, as board secretary; Jay Gellert, president and CEO, Health Net, Inc., and as chair of the Administrative Simplification Committee; and Harvey Sigelbaum, president and co-CEO, MultiPlan, Inc., chair of the Communications Committee.
