Enhancements to CAQH ProView for Groups will reduce administrative burdens, improve data accuracy and support compliance with the No Surprises Act
CAQH today released enhancements to its flagship provider data platform, CAQH ProView, that will streamline how hospitals and group practices manage credentialing and directory information and share it with health plans. Now, with CAQH ProView for Groups, practice managers can generate rosters of physicians, confirm directory data and share it with selected health plans in one secure web portal. These enhancements will save groups time and money, improve the accuracy of credentialing and directory data and help providers and plans meet requirements of the No Surprises Act.
“Hospitals and group practices must share frequently changing information about their providers with dozens of health plans,” said Robin Thomashauer, CAQH President. “For years, CAQH has led the way in automating and improving these processes. The enhancements we are announcing today–and others that will be released in the coming months–represent a significant step forward.
CAQH ProView is used by 1.6 million providers and more than 1,000 health plans and other participating organizations to manage and exchange credentialing, directory and other information. Because ProView is the industry standard, enhancements to the solution can have a profound impact on business processes and data quality across the nation’s healthcare system.
Today, many groups manage and share information about providers using various processes and portals depending on their agreement with each health plan. In some cases, the data is exchanged one provider at a time. In others, it is shared in batches or rosters. These fragmented and labor-intensive approaches increase the burden on practices and contribute to errors in data.
Now, CAQH ProView for Groups offers practices a single portal to share information with plans, regardless of their agreement or relationship with each. Practice managers can also now update office location information for all providers from a single entry, thereby reducing the risk of errors associated with entering it for each provider.
The recently enacted No Surprises Act includes, among other provisions, requirements on the healthcare industry that are intended to make directories more accurate. The enhancements announced today will help stakeholders comply.
