WASHINGTON, DC - 09/25/2018

CAQH® announces Mark Pratt as the organization’s Senior Vice President of Public Affairs. In this role, Pratt will lead CAQH state and federal government relations, regulatory affairs and public policy efforts to advance the organization’s mission to transform business processes in healthcare.

“Mark has a deep understanding of how government policy and regulation have the potential to either increase healthcare administrative burdens or alleviate them,” said Robin Thomashauer, President of CAQH. “His experience, expertise, and relationships will accelerate our efforts to improve data quality and reduce costs and inefficiencies across the healthcare system.”

Pratt brings more than 20 years of experience in public policy and health insurance regulation to CAQH. Previously, Pratt held senior-level positions overseeing legislative and regulatory affairs at America’s Health Insurance Plans (AHIP), Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Virginia, and the Virginia Association of Health Plans. As a former advisor to CAQH, Pratt was instrumental in establishing state relations for the organization.

CAQH is the leader in creating initiatives to streamline the business of healthcare. The organization’s advanced technology solutions -- CAQH ProView, DirectAssure, VeriFide, SanctionsTrack, EnrollHub and COB Smart -- enable nearly 1,000 health plans and 1.4 million providers to share information needed for credentialing, provider directories, claims processing, quality assurance and member services accurately, efficiently and securely.

“To improve the healthcare experience for all stakeholders -- plans, providers and members -- the industry must identify new ways to reduce administrative burdens and improve data quality,” Pratt said. “CAQH is in a unique position to help solve these challenges, and I couldn’t be more excited to be joining the team.”
