To simplify the way Maryland physicians are credentialed, the Council for Affordable Quality Healthcare (CAQH) today announced the state launch of its Universal Credentialing DataSource service. CAQH, a not-for-profit alliance of America’s leading health plans and networks, developed this service to help physicians more easily and cost-effectively provide required credentialing information to healthcare organizations.

National Single Credentialing Application Brings Added Convenience to Physicians

Acting on its pledge to ease physician paperwork, The Coalition for Affordable Quality Healthcare (CAQH), a non-profit coalition of healthcare organizations founded by 26 of the nation?s largest health plans and insurers covering more than 110 million Americans, announced today its plan to launch a sophisticated credentialing application system. "This new system will dramatically simplify the credentialing process and reduce paperwork for healthcare providers, health plans and hospitals," said H. Edward Hanway, chairman and CEO of CIGNA and chairman of CAQH.
