CAQH Named by Computerworld as a 2013 Computerworld Honors Laureate

 CAQH® today announced that it has been named by IDG’s Computerworld Honors Program as a 2013 Laureate. The annual award program honors visionary applications of information technology promoting positive social, economic and educational change.

CAQH® announced today that ten additional organizations, including leading health plans representing approximately 30 million covered lives, and prominent clearinghouses and vendors, have earned voluntary CAQH CORE Phase I or Phase II Operating Rules certification after completing a rigorous testing process. This brings to more than 60 the number of healthcare organizations and products that have achieved CORE certification.

Unique Collaboration by 12 of the Nation’s Top Insurers will Streamline and Improve Accuracy of Coordination of Benefits Process

 CAQH® announced today a major new initiative designed to reduce costs and improve the accuracy of coordination of benefits processes. This initiative will enable health plans and providers to “get it right the first time,” and more efficiently manage benefits for patients with policies from more than one insurer. CAQH research suggests that administrative efficiencies associated with benefits coordination could, over time, save consumers, providers, health plans and others more than $800M per year.

 

New Online Tool Lets Providers Enroll in EFT
with Multiple Payers through a Single, Online Process

CAQH® announced today the launch of a new, universal electronic funds transfer (EFT) enrollment tool for providers that facilitates the use of electronic payments between payers and providers by offering a single point of entry for adopting EFT. By streamlining and automating the EFT enrollment process, the tool creates efficiencies and cost savings for both payers and providers by eliminating the need for providers to enroll in EFT separately for each health plan in which they participate.

Trusted Healthcare Industry Resrouce Improves Efficiency and Reduces Costs Associated with Provider Data Administration

CAQH CORE Operating Rules Adopted By HHS For Patient Eligibility
And Health Claim Status Transactions

Rules to Ensure Electronic Data Transactions are More Predictable and Consistent

CAQH® announced that the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) adopted the use of many of the CAQH Committee on Operating Rules for Information Exchange® (CORE®) operating rules regarding eligibility for a health plan and healthcare claim status transactions.  All HIPAA covered entities will be required to comply with these operating rules, which will make electronic healthcare transactions more predictable and consistent, by January 1, 2013 as part of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA). 

CAQH Receives WEDI Leadership in Technology Award
