As a Cloud Architect you will be responsible for developing and driving our cloud computing strategy along with assisting with the integration of new emerging technologies and public cloud services, cloud identity, cloud adoption plans, cloud application design, and cloud management and monitoring strategies.

Position Description

Position Summary:

As a Cloud Architect you will be responsible for developing and driving our cloud computing strategy along with assisting with the integration of new emerging technologies and public cloud services, cloud identity, cloud adoption plans, cloud application design, and cloud management and monitoring strategies. You will work with the development teams and other stakeholders to drive and enable the migration and refactoring of outsourced cloud applications to insourced, internal cloud native applications using current and relevant design and deployment methodologies. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in cloud computing, architecture best practices, and hands on engineering with a focus on scalability, security, and performance. The Cloud Architect is a full-time, remote, exempt position and reports to the Sr. Director, Enterprise Architecture and Infrastructure.

Base Salary Range: $170,000 - $190,000 annually.

Specific Responsibilities:

·       Define cloud strategy and architecture standards, ensuring alignment with business goals and IT strategy.

·       Develop and implement cloud-based solutions using Azure cloud to meet business objectives, with a focus on scalability, cost optimization, and high availability.

·       Ensure that cloud environments are secure, compliant with regulatory standards (e.g., HIPPA, SOC2) and follow best practices for identity and access management.

·       Define, implement, and enforce the Cloud Standard Operating Environment, Cloud standards, and associated tools/platforms/frameworks for the CAQH application portfolio, in coordination with enterprise-wide efforts for Cloud Architecture and Planning.

·       Drive Proof-of-Concepts and implementation, with hands-on involvement as SME, for new items: build and integrate new technologies, work with outside vendors on SaaS and PaaS applications.

·       Contribute to, and influence, enterprise definition and enhancements of public cloud platforms customization, standards, and best practices for CAQH: define portfolio specific requirements and drive solutions to address them, represent the portfolio in enterprise coordination.

·       Understand and build on emerging industry trends and how it works with CAQH applications.

·       Define and execute the portfolio strategy for Cloud migrations, in alignment with overall IT strategy and directions. For execution of strategy, will partner cross-functionally with project managers, product, software development, security, and operations teams.

·       Define and enforce the Cloud architecture and best practices: availability; redundancy, performance, disaster recovery, security, database and integrated systems.

·       Drive cost optimization initiatives by reviewing cloud usage and implementing cost effective solutions.

·       Implement monitoring solutions for cloud infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and resolving issues in real time.

·       Report weekly status on projects to designated CAQH management.

·       Follow all CAQH Policies and Procedures.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

None.

Skills: 

·       Knowledge of allocating, configuring, and monitoring cloud-based resources (IaaS, PaaS), including virtual machines, storage, compute, security, and networking components.

·       Ability to clearly communicate subjects that may be very technical in nature with both technical and non-technical audiences.

·       Excellent customer service skills.

·       Strong scripting skills in one or more areas of Systems Administration, DevOps, Infrastructure as Code, or Continuous Integration and Deployment tools in a Cloud Environment.

·       In depth knowledge of cloud security practices, IAM, encryption and network security.

·       Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

·       Strong familiarity with Azure technologies and management of Azure resources.

·       Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker & Kubernetes.

·       Familiar with Agile/Scrum/SAFe development processes is a plus.

Experience:

·       5 or more years of experience in a technical role with minimum 3 years as Cloud Architect or Software Engineer required.

·       Experience developing strategies for and supporting Microsoft .Net applications is a plus.

Education:

·       Bachelor or master’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field strongly preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.

·       Certification in Azure or Cloud Infrastructure or Security preferred.
