Manager, UX Design
Position Description
The Manager, UX Design is responsible for creating, maintaining, and advancing the CAQH Design Language System (DLS) to ensure brand continuity, accessibility, and user experience consistency across CAQH solutions. This role partners with product, technology, and research teams to design intuitive, high-quality experiences that achieve business goals while advocating for user needs. The Manager leads design efforts from concept through delivery, leveraging user research, analytics, and design thinking to continuously improve CAQH’s digital solutions.
The Manager, UX Design is a full-time, remote, exempt position and reports to the Chief Product Officer.
Base Salary Range: $125,000 – $155,000 annually.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Develops, maintains, and evolves the CAQH Design Language System to promote usability, consistency, and ADA compliance.
- Translates research insights into user journeys, personas, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs that reflect CAQH’s brand identity.
- Partners with UX Strategy, product management, and technology teams to define requirements and design experiences optimized for multiple devices and interfaces.
- Applies user-centered design methodologies, including rapid prototyping, usability testing, and iterative feedback, to create innovative solutions.
- Establishes and enforces usability heuristics and interaction models across CAQH applications.
- Collaborates with internal stakeholders to communicate design concepts, workflows, and specifications for efficient implementation.
- Identifies design challenges and develops solutions that balance business objectives, technology constraints, and user needs.
- Conducts competitive analyses and user testing to evaluate UX effectiveness and recommend improvements.
- Ensures design quality through review and validation of production-ready development.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- May provide guidance to junior designers, contractors, or interns on design methods, tools, and deliverables.
Skills:
- Expertise in UX/UI design tools such as Figma, Maze, and similar platforms.
- Working knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript; familiarity with .NET front-end development preferred.
- Ability to apply design thinking and information architecture principles to complex problems.
- Deep understanding of mobile-first and responsive design.
- Strong grasp of user-centered design, accessibility, and usability best practices.
- Skilled in creating and communicating design processes, solutions, and ideas clearly to stakeholders.
- Ability to balance innovation with business priorities and technology requirements.
- Collaborative, flexible, and open to feedback, with a demonstrated passion for UX design and innovation.
Experience:
- Five or more years of experience in UX/UI design.
- Healthcare industry experience preferred.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree required; preferred fields include Design, Computer Science, Information Management, Usability, or Human-Computer Interaction.
- Relevant UX/UI design certifications required.
