 The Vice President, Enterprise Architecture and Infrastructure will serve as a key member of the CAQH Technology leadership team, driving the enterprise-wide strategy for architecture, cloud modernization, and infrastructure. 

Position Description

The Vice President, Enterprise Architecture and Infrastructure will serve as a key member of the CAQH Technology leadership team, driving the enterprise-wide strategy for architecture, cloud modernization, and infrastructure. This executive will shape the long-term technology roadmap, ensuring the organization operates on a secure, scalable, cost-efficient, and innovative foundation.

The VP will lead modernization initiatives that reduce vendor reliance, increase agility, and strengthen security, while ensuring CAQH maintains operational stability and compliance in a highly regulated environment. This role requires vision, influence, and the ability to partner with executive peers to align technology investments with business strategy and growth objectives.

The Vice President, Enterprise Architecture and Infrastructure is a full-time, remote, exempt position and reports to the CTO.

Base Salary Range: $225,000 - $260,000 annually.

 

Specific Responsibilities:

Enterprise Leadership

  • Define and execute CAQH’s multi-year enterprise architecture and infrastructure strategy, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Partner with executive leadership to shape technology investments that enable innovation, speed, and business impact.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior executives and the Board on cloud, infrastructure, and architecture decisions.
  • Represent CAQH in external forums and with key partners on topics of cloud strategy, security, and modernization.

Architecture & Infrastructure Strategy

  • Establish and govern enterprise-wide standards for cloud, infrastructure, identity, and DevOps.
  • Drive modernization of legacy platforms to cloud-native, scalable, and cost-efficient solutions.
  • Ensure infrastructure is secure, resilient, and compliant with HIPAA, SOC2, and other federal contracting requirements.
  • Champion infrastructure automation, observability, and proactive cost optimization.
  • Oversee adoption and evolution of Azure-based IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS platforms.

Operational Excellence

  • Define and monitor metrics for reliability, performance, scalability, and compliance.
  • Ensure robust identity management, security posture, and business continuity planning.
  • Provide executive oversight of vendor evaluation, negotiation, and management.
  • Serve as final decision-maker for critical enterprise architecture choices.

Skills:   

  • Deep knowledge of enterprise architecture, cloud computing (Azure preferred), and infrastructure strategy at scale.
  • Ability to translate business strategy into secure, innovative, and cost-effective technology solutions.
  • Executive communication and influence skills, with a track record of engaging senior leadership, Boards, and regulators.
  • Expertise in IAM, encryption, network security, and compliance frameworks.
  • Proven leadership in infrastructure automation and CI/CD modernization.
  • Strong financial and vendor management acumen.
  • Familiarity with Agile, SAFe, and modern delivery methodologies.

Experience:

  • 15+ years of progressive experience in enterprise IT, architecture, cloud engineering, or infrastructure leadership.
  • 7+ years in executive or senior leadership roles managing enterprise technology strategy and large, multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated success leading enterprise-level transformation and cloud modernization.
  • Proven ability to operate in a hybrid or multi-cloud environment.
  • Experience modernizing infrastructure for .NET or similar platforms is a plus.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field strongly preferred.
  • Advanced certifications in Azure Architecture, Cloud Security, or DevOps preferred.
