Healthcare Leaders Join the CAQH CORE Board

CAQH CORE has announced five new Board members to help advance CORE’s mission to drive the creation and adoption of healthcare operating rules, accelerate interoperability and align administrative and clinical activities.

Please join CAQH CORE in welcoming:

Anika Gardenhire, RN, CHCIO, Chief Digital Officer, Centene Corporation

Anika is a healthcare strategy and technology executive with deep experience assisting clinicians, operations teams and information technology professionals in utilizing information systems to ensure excellent patient and member care. Before joining Centene in 2020, Anika held leadership roles at Intermountain Healthcare and as a healthcare consultant.

Caprice Knapp, PhD, Medicaid Director, State of North Dakota

Caprice has more than 20 years of experience working on Medicaid and CHIP in the private sector, state and federal policymaking and academia. She has held positions at Molina Healthcare, the University of Florida and the US House of Representatives Energy and Commerce Committee. Throughout her career, Caprice has focused on vulnerable populations, delivery system reform and global health.

Margaret Schuler, Senior Vice President, Practice Support Operations and Revenue Cycle Management, Aspen Dental Management, Inc. (ADMI)

Margaret brings 25 years of healthcare experience in finance and revenue cycle management. She has worked extensively in patient access transformation, regulatory compliance, price transparency and system conversions to fully integrated revenue cycle platforms, among other areas. Prior to joining ADMI, she worked at OhioHealth and is also a member of the HFMA National Board of Directors.

Scott Waller, Vice President, Aetna IT Application Delivery Division, Aetna

Scott is an accomplished, outcome-driven senior technology executive with 25 years of consulting and management experience, and year-over-year success in leading $100M+ multimillion dollar IT initiatives for Fortune 100 companies. Scott is currently a Vice President in Aetna’s IT Delivery Division and plays a lead role in developing innovative technology solutions focused on future-proofing business operations through digital transformation.

Daniel Kalwa, Deputy Director, National Standards Group, CMS

Daniel has served in a variety of roles in his more than 17 years with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. He is currently the Deputy Director of the National Standards Group in the Office of Burden Reduction.
