Universal Credentialing Datasource®
Credentialing can be a burden for any medical practice. In fact, many office managers say that completing health plan credentialing application requirements is one of their biggest administrative headaches. That's why health plans and other healthcare organizations across the country are finding a better way to collect credentialing data with Universal Credentialing Datasource.
Developed by CAQH, Universal Credentialing Datasource is a single, national process that eliminates the need for multiple credentialing applications. Through this innovative, online service, providers complete one standardized application to meet the needs of all participating health plans and other healthcare organizations. Periodic electronic updates raise the bar on quality and timeliness of data. The service is simple, convenient and secure.
Today, providers and health plans and other healthcare organizations throughout the United States are participating in Universal Credentialing Datasource. And the numbers continue to grow. CAQH also has expanded the service to allied health providers in 30 fields, including nursing, optometry and physician assistants.
Universal Credentialing Datasource has achieved widespread support among health plans, providers, accrediting bodies and other stakeholders nationwide. The American College of Physicians (ACP) has formally supported the CAQH credentialing process since 2003, and the service is endorsed by the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) for use by its more than 94,000 members.
